Carolyn Marshall and Pat Grant's concerts and church service programs are appropriate for both your GLBT and mainstream members. They strive to provide a balance between the daily Christian walk and the issues surrounding the Christian GLBT community. Primarily, they want ALL to hear that God loves each and every one of us exactly the way we are without exception. This message seems so simple but it is so difficult to believe for an oppressed people that are repeatedly told how unworthy they are of God’s love. MGM, Inc., quite frankly, doesn’t think that anyone can ever hear those simple words enough: God Loves You!

Marshall-Grant Ministries’ focus is on exhortation to evangelism, worship and GLBT affirmation. They use a variety of song styles (solo and duet), Readers Theater sketches and share personal testimony and experience to direct the audience to their intended focus for each piece. Carolyn Marshall's clear soprano voice and Pat Grant's comedic style offer a wonderfully unique worship experience!! They are both entertaining and spiritually uplifting.

CAROLYN MARSHALL was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and from the age of five lived in the metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia area. Carolyn grew up in the Southern Baptist church and a rather “Father Knows Best” kind of family. Church music and politics were a big part of her childhood and teenage years. Feeling a call to music ministry as a teenager, Carolyn began studying voice at Mercer University Atlanta in 1978. Upon discovering herself to be lesbian, Carolyn left home and lost all hope of ever heeding the call to ministry, and began accounting work in 1981. In 1992, Carolyn helped found Christ Covenant Metropolitan Community Church, in Decatur, Georgia. The church quickly filled the empty place and God’s music became a big part of her life again through the music ministry of Christ Covenant. In May 1994, Carolyn met her life partner, Pat Grant. Then in early 1995, the old teenage call to ministry began to surface again and Carolyn and Pat decided to step out in faith to begin the ministry she had felt called to do so many years ago.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, PAT GRANT grew up there and in the New Jersey suburbs. She began college in New Jersey in 1968 but left for the Big Apple after two years to pursue a career in theater. She did summer stock and toured the country as a puppeteer for several years with companies in New York, Washington D.C., and Atlanta, including performances at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, and the Detroit Youth Theater. Pat directed and performed with the Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts, the World of Sid and Marty Krofft, and Six Flags Over Georgia. She returned to school to graduate with honor from Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Georgia, with a degree in Biology in 1988.

Pat and Carolyn formed MARSHALL-GRANT MINISTRIES, INC. in 1995 and have continued in ministry since that time. They have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada delivering the Good News of God’s all-inclusive Love.

BOOKING INFORMATION

FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS AND ACCOMODATIONS

These financial and accommodation needs are for church concerts only. For conferences, retreats, fundraisers, and other types of events, please contact us to negotiate rates. These rates are provided as a guide and are subject to change. They are not intended to be a binding contract.

• We ask for a flat rate travel fee of $100. Please ask about our small church/low income programs.
• Smoke free surroundings. Carolyn is highly allergic to smoke.
• We travel with a travel trailer (enclosed camper trailer). Therefore, home or motel accommodations will normally not be needed for our stay.
• We ask that you provide a place to park and plug our unit (30-amp unit but regular outlet is acceptable) into electric power for the duration of our stay.
• Love offering at each service or event in which we participate.
• We will provide promotional information, but advertising and event promotion and costs would be your responsibility as concert host.
• We would also want to sell CD's, tapes and other ministry items at each event.

WHAT IS NEEDED BY YOU

• Call local gay publications, newspapers, radio stations, etc. See if they will be willing to publicize your upcoming concert.
• Publicize the concert in your church bulletin and newsletter several months in advance of the concert, then weekly until the actual concert date. Be sure to list the concert date, time and location so your congregation can put the concert on the their calendars.
• Put the concert date on the church calendar at least a month ahead of time.
• Put the date, time and location of the concert on the bottom section of the posters provided to you and post them prominently around the church, restaurants, bookstores or other places often frequented by the gay population. You may find that many business owners are willing to let you place a poster in their facility.
• Announce the concert during your regular church service each Sunday for several weeks prior to the actual date.

FOUNDATION 100!

We are asking for 100 people to partner with us in ministry by making a one-year commitment of $20 per month to become a member of the Marshall-Grant Ministries Foundation 100! Pat and I have heeded our call to ministry. Is it possible that God is calling you for *“just such a time as this,” (Esther 4:17) as well? For a one-year commitment of $20 a month, that is less than the cost of your cable television, you can become a partner with God in this ministry. Would you be willing to join us…step out in faith with us for one year…as together we answer the call of God.

• Enable us to travel to locations that may be unable to afford to pay travel fees.
